Saoirse Hashim
Saorise Taniyn
Character Traits
A poised Human with keen gray eyes and a practiced courtly smile, Saoirse walks the line between royal polish and restless rebellion. Chaotic Neutral at heart, she reads a room in an instant and projects breezy confidence while burying private doubts. Palace intrigue taught her that nearly everyone angles for advantage; thus, she trusts only two people—her mother Queen Elaine and elder brother Barry. Self‑reliant to a fault, she weighs every decision against her own judgment, rarely yielding once convinced she is right. Granting her trust earns iron‑clad loyalty, but cracking her guarded exterior is no small feat. She seeks a power grounded not merely in birthright but in personal conviction, free from manipulation.
Background
Known publicly as Saoirse Hashim, she is secretly Saoirse Taniyn, youngest child of Queen Elaine Taniyn III of Shalteros. While her elder siblings—Maeve (paladin heir), Cian (knight), and Barry (sorcerer apprentice to the enigmatic Abaragarza family)—embraced formal roles, Saoirse found royal duties stifling. She was shipped to Alminster’s Academy of Magic in Muristar to master wizardry, the prescribed “proper” path for a spare princess.
During a field exercise she was ambushed—an assassination attempt masked by miscast teleportation. A mysterious Druid rescued her, sheltering her in a half‑ruined sanctum of The Order of Yggdrasil and gifting her a primer on druidic arts. Upon returning to court, Queen Elaine—growing distant of late—visited Saoirse in secret. She asked, “If the right path feels wrong, what will you do?” Saoirse replied, “Follow my own judgment.” The queen smiled sadly, pressed a shard of rusted green amulet into her daughter’s hand, and vanished days later during the Tragedy of the Tides.
Imperial officials stonewalled inquiries, rumors were suppressed, and guards whispered of covert sightings along the southern coast. In one hushed corridor Saoirse overheard Adviser Alfred mutter to a cloaked figure: “Elaine… sighting… southern coasts…don’t tell anyone.” Convinced of conspiracy, she withdrew from the academy, deepened her druidic studies, and requested a long‑term illusion from a trusted friend to soften her resemblance to the missing princess.
Armed with arcane and primal magic, Saoirse registered for the PortglassiaAdventurers Guild, intent on wielding adventurer resources to uncover the truth—and to decide, on her own terms, what kind of power she will wield.
